Building Services Engineer:
Our building services group is growing and is actively seeking a senior professional scientist or engineer with experience in project management of building projects involving upgrades, renovations and additions. The successful candidate will ideally have 10 plus years experience managing various aspects of building renovations including assessment of hazardous materials, development of tenders, coordinating monitoring programs and general project management. The candidate works very well with industry clients and contractors, is a skilled communicator and has experience managing the process from start to finish on multiple projects. Senior Geotechnical Engineer:
Strum is currently seeking a senior geotechnical engineer to work in our Bedford Office.
We are looking to add to our team a senior Geotechnical Engineer with 8 to 10 years experience in the coordination and management of geotechnical investigations and supervisory projects for commercial development clients. The candidate will posses very strong organisational capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate will be an excellent client communicator, able to develop and implement training regimens and capable of mentoring a developing staff. The candidate will be experienced working on large commercial sites, comfortable with dynamic projects and well versed in project management in relation to those projects. The chosen candidate will report to the Division Manager.
Geotechnical/Materials Technician:
Strum Environmental has an opening in our Bedford office for a Geotechnical Technician to work with our geotechnical engineering team.
The requirements for the Geotechnical technician position are:
- Experience with a geotechnical inspection and testing firm (at least 5 - 10 years preferred)
- CET designation, or equivalent educations
The chosen candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills and possess a strong technical background. The position also requires good organization skills, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to learn.
Project Manager, Intermediate:
Strum has an opportunity for an engineer or geologist in training to join our remedial group in Bedford. This young professional will possess an engineering or geology degree and be capable of attaining professional status in this industry. The candidate will preferably have several years consulting experience and have practical knowledge involving field assessment methods, remedial planning and management of remedial programs. This individual will be involved in a variety of environmental remedial programs at sites involving hydrocarbon spills, metals and various other commercial contaminants and will assist and manage these projects.
Environmental Scientist:
We are currently looking for an intermediate or senior level Environmental Scientist with several years experience and possessing a university degree or Masters in Science, biology or engineering.
The successful candidate with be experienced in conducting comprehensive and screening level environmental impact assessments, preparing applications for regulatory approvals, land use permitting, and conducting and attending public consultations. Strong working knowledge of federal and provincial environmental legislation would be an asset. Previous consulting experience is essential.
The preferred candidate will be self-motivated and should have excellent organizational and communication skills. As well, the candidate will possess strong report writing and project management skills and have experience working with the federal, provincial and municipal regulatory agencies. The desire to travel, to work in a team environment, and experience with wetlands assessments and approvals is an asset.
The successful candidate will work in a team environment and will be responsible for contributing to environmental impact assessments and environmental permitting for a variety of clients, will be responsible for proposal and report writing and presentations, developing budgets and coordinating projects through client liaison.
Project Hydrogeologist:
Strum is looking for an intermediate to senior level hydrogeologist with five or more years experience to assist with a variety of water supply and contaminant related projects across Atlantic Canada. Preferably possessing a Masters level education in Hydrogeology, this registered professional candidate will have practical, hands on experience with assessment of subsurface conditions, groundwater flow modelling, assessment of groundwater hydraulics as it relates to contaminant hydrogeology and site remediation. As well, this candidate will have experience managing all aspects of groundwater resource assessment, evaluation of well hydraulics and evaluating groundwater resources related to development of potable supplies for existing and new developments. This position requires an organised, highly motivated self starter with excellent client communication skills. Previous experience in a consulting business is a must and experience managing significant projects with commercial development clients is essential.
Field Coordinator:
Strum is currently looking for a full time Field Coordinator. This position involves field work requiring air, water and soil sample collection, data compilation and interpretation, and site supervision.
The educational requirements for this position is a Bsc. or CET, preferably with 2 or more years experience in managing field programs related to contaminant assessment and remedial programs. Experience in environmental remediation, phased site assessment, and report writing would be an asset.
The position requires a motivated individual, a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will establish clear communication with clients and staff, understand defined work scopes, complete assigned tasks on time, and organize and report on data collected.
