Environmental Site AssessmentStrum Environmental staff members pride themselves on providing leading edge environmental assessment services to industry and commercial interests throughout Atlantic Canada. Property transfers can result in new owners assuming environmental risks at a site. The careful application of site assessment techniques coupled with appropriate sampling can reduce costs to ensure that long term acquisitions do not carry excessive liability. Strum completes over 100 environmental site assessments yearly. Many assessments involve transfers of commercial properties where present or past activities have contributed to contaminants impacting the soil, groundwater and/or air quality of the site. Strum provides phased assessment services, ESA I, II and III to commercial and governmental clients according to the latest CSA Z768 standards. Strum is an approved service provider to all chartered banks, most trust and life insurance companies with investment portfolios, leading insurers and major conduit lenders throughout Canada. The ability of the assessor to accurately determine site characteristics is the key to successful site assessment. Strum staff has completed professional or technical training requirements from recognized institutions in areas of site assessment related to a wide range of site applications. Examples of phased assessments completed by Strum Environmental include: apartment complexes up to and over 200 units; multi building site transactions; former DND complexes; manufacturing plants; community college sites; school boards; dry cleaners; chemical facilities; and heavy water plants.
