Air Quality and Noise AssessmentsStrum provides a wide range of air quality services to commercial and industrial clients across Atlantic Canada. Presently, Strum provides evaluation of air quality parameters in a variety of indoor and exterior settings under varying conditions. Services are aimed at assessment of air quality parameters including physical properties of temperature and oxygen content, and monitoring of air quality changes over time. Industrial settings often require hydrocarbon vapour monitoring, and sampling for organics, particulates and other parameters.
Strum ensures a rigorous investigation during each air quality assessment. It is critical that at the building or subject location, air transfer rate, control system, and ambient conditions be determined as a key part of any air quality assessment. Monitoring must then involve work space sampling using the latest sampling equipment and techniques with the results compared to current regulatory standards. The regulatory regime typically involves interpretation of a number of regulatory and guideline criteria obtained from ACGIH, NIOSH and other sources. Strum focuses on providing tailored sample programs that can reduce client staff issues and concerns, that can reduce follow up requirements, and that provide the data in an easy understandable format. Providing adequate information in a well worded context can allay fears and help general understanding of air quality in a staff work space. Strum also conducts numerous noise assessments. Often related to high noise level evaluations, industry clients wish to ensure that due diligent health and safety programs are in force. Ambient noise level studies are also common as well as external noise evaluations recording and interpreting changes over time in commercial and industrial settings.
