In the past five years, Strum has become increasingly involved in institutionally-based environmental issues. A large portion of our services provides a wide range of institutional clients with the confidence that they are managing environmental risk in a proactive way. We provide infrastructure assessments, phased assessments and hazardous material surveys for hospitals, colleges, universities and schools across Atlantic Canada.

Our institutional clients need help with assessment and management of environmental risks associated with constant upgrades and renovation requirements. Strum can work with these clients to ensure that the health of staff, workers, students and visitors is protected by having a comprehensive hazardous materials survey completed before renovations begin. This allows us to write technical specifications prescribing safe deconstruction practices, disposal of materials and close out sampling procedures.

These services give institutional clients the confidence that they are meeting the highest possible standard and ensuring that health is safeguarded. In addition, Strum acts to ensure that the standard of work being carried out meets the latest requirements and guidelines and that contractors provide costs for upgrades based on supplying and performing industry standard in aspects of their work, regardless of who does the work.
