Risk Management Plan, Paper Plant, Atlantic Canada

Strum was retained to complete a comprehensive risk assessment of a major corrugator/printing plant in the Burnside Industrial Park. A desktop review and site visit was completed to facilitate the identification of potential environmental risks and liabilities associated with the site's operations and infrastructure. An in-depth site process review in conjunction with determination of relevant by-laws, and provincial and federal regulations was completed. Risks were assessed and quantified based on Strum risk assessment protocols. An on-going Environmental Risk Management Plan was developed to include risk treatment options, costs for risk reduction, and objectives and targets. On-going auditing and monitoring of the site's environmental performance was completed based on established criteria. The project required Strum to examine in detail the process of corrugated product manufacturing, in order to filter out risk, liability and and non-compliance issues.
