Project ManagementTire Fire Clean Up ManagementStrum was retained to act as project manager of a significant tire fire in Nova Scotia. Chief among initial duties was to provide a rapid response to the site, scope the issues and determine steps to take to ensure that fire suppression and impacts mitigation were applied with haste. While assembling a team of experts, Strum implemented water recycling practices during the blaze and developed a dunk and drown program to ensure that bucket-sized loads of high BTU factor tire chafe were doused effectively. An on-site water treatment system was then designed to treat approximately 3 million gallons of impacted water while plans were developed to assess and remediate several hundred thousand charred tires. Strum coordinated project information sessions and communicated information to regulatory officials, governmental organizations and NGO's throughout the process. Long term plans involved completion of site assessment, remedial practices and development and successful attainment of site closure. >>>Return to Project Management<<<
