Facilities Audit, NPRI Compliance

The National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) is a legislated, nation-wide, publicly accessible inventory of pollutants released to the environment. It was created in 1992 to provide Canadians with information on pollutant releases from facilities. Currently, over 2500 facilities across Canada are reporting on the release of NPRI listed substances.

The NPRI has been an expanding process, with changes to the structure of reporting and list of reportable substances occurring every year. As the reporting requirements change over time, many industries will receive for the first time a request from their local Environment Canada office to conduct an assessment of their pollutant releases.

Strum has experience with saving companies time and money in the assessment and reporting procedure. Strum has streamlined the process of collecting and compiling the necessary information and running the appropriate calculations to first assess whether a facility is required to report, and if necessary, completing the actual NPRI report.
