Hazardous Materials Testing and Remedial Supervision

The Strum Hazardous Materials Assessment team has been involved with several large scale asbestos assessment and abatement supervision projects in the past 12 months. Included was a Public Works Canada project in Dartmouth at BIO and a similarly large commercial remedial program. Strum was tasked with the preliminary design and assessment of asbestos materials at both sites. Based on that characterization, Strum developed the remedial goals, established and tested to confirm conformance with acceptable sample criteria for air and materials types and supervised contractor methods to ensure safe work practices were followed. Strum was also responsible to track materials removal volumes and to develop budgetary estimates in advance of project commencement.
